Democrat [Clarion, Pa] June 21, 1923
Clarion lost one of its best citizens when last Monday, June 18, 1923, at about 7 o'clock p.m., the door to immortal life opened and Mr. Jacob S. Albright passed through to realms beyond.
Mr. Albright has been in failing health for some time past in spite of which he was generally around and so long as he was able to go he always kept busy doing something useful.
Mr. Albright was born September 19, 1846, and was therefore aged 76 years, 8 months and 19 days at the time of his demise. His parents were Daniel and Louise Albright, and his native town was Yeagertown, Mifflin County, Pa.
In 1876 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Corbett, who now survives him to mourn the loss of a devoted husband.
He also leaves two children, Mrs. L. E. McKinley, of Port Clinton, 0., and J. L. Albright, of Clarion. Two sisters also survive him, Mrs. Anna Dunmire, Juniata, Pa., and Mrs. Mary Stewart, Yeagertown.
Mr. Albright spent upwards of twenty-three years on his farm on the highway near Corsica, but about eighteen years ago he removed to Clarion, since which time his home has been in this place, and he went back and forward to his farm as required. He was a careful and judicious business man and a wise economist. In public affairs he served the people of his township in several local offices and won their approval. He was affiliated with the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at Corsica, where he always retained his membership.
His funeral services were held at his late home Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock, being conducted by Rev. Charles F. Smalley and Dr. John Ballentine.
The interment will be made in the Clarion cemetery.
