BERTEOTTI, SUSAN MAE (SCHIMP) Susan Mae Schimp Berteotti, 54, of Butler, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, as the result of a car accident on Route 38 north. Born Jan. 4, 1951, in Sligo, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. Schimp and Helen McKinney Campbell of Sligo. Mrs. Berteotti was an active member of the Women of the Moose No. 0313 in Chicora. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are a daughter, Bobbie Jo Zang of Hooker; a son, Michael R. Berteotti of Butler; and three grandchildren, Tiffany, Deven and Emily Zang. She also is survived by two sisters, her twin, Sheila Stewart of Chicora and Carol Harding of Westin, W.Va.; a brother, Robert J. Schimp of Nashua, N.H.; and her friend, Pete Parise of Punxsutawney. Mrs. Berteotti was preceded in death by her father and her stepfather, Frank Campbell. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Young Funeral Home, Ltd., Butler. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. John Neyman, pastor of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedarview Cemetery in Strattanville. Susan M. Berteotti, 54, of Butler, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed when the car she was driving slid into the oncoming lane of traffic about 11 a.m. and collided with an oncoming sport utility vehicle, state police said. The other driver, Dena C. Erkens, 50, of Butler, sustained moderate injuries, troopers said. State police did not say if yesterday`s snowfall and wet roads were a factor in the accident (TribLine News 3/12/2005)
