Lawrence R. "Bob" Buchanan
Lawrence R. "Bob" Buchanan,77,died Aug.18, 2005, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born June 7, 1928,at Kingman,the son of Charles Henry and Eva Belenza Bybee Buchanan. A lifetime Kingman resident, he was retired employee of Kansas Power and Light.
He belonged to Kingman Christian Church and NRA.
On July 8, 1950, he married Martha Milburn at Kingman. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Gary, Denver; two daughters, Carolyn J. Parsons, Hutchinson, and Sharon Rush, Wichita; a sister Beulah Salmans, Pratt; and eight grandchildren.
He was proceded in death by two brothers, James and Charles; and three sisters, Opal Buchanan, Lola Buchanan and Ruby Moorehouse.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman, with the family present.
Memorials may be sent to the Kingman Riverside Park, in care of the funeral home.

On July 16, 1948, started work on a Kansas Power & Light pipeline crew on an assignment in Kingman- when the job was completed he went to work at the Kingman office as a service man, transfering in October , 1950 to the KPL compressor station located in Calista, Kansas (west of Kingman). Bob retired in February of 1990 with 42 years service.
