Charles Annis was born 1834 at Berwick, ME, the son of Nehemiah and Levina (Hobbs) Annis, married Harriet Woveland. He enlisted on October 29, 1861 and was mustered out September 22, 1863. Charles volunteered for a commission as Captain of United States Colored Troops Regiment after his discharge from the 13th Maine. Charles died at Fremont, NE on July 11, 1893 and is buried there.
