Retired Police Officer Howard Crowell, DSN 4368, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at his home. He was commissioned as a Police Officer on 05/07/1962 and after graduating from the Saint Louis Police Academy he was assigned to the 4Th District. Later in his career he was transferred to the Juvenile Division as a Detective. He later went on to serve in the 1St District Detective Bureau where he remained for the rest of his career. On 11/01/1975 he was awarded a letter of Commendation for outstanding police work. When he retired on 04/16/1990 he had served a total of 27.94 years of dedicated service to the police department. He was also a veteran of the Army National Guard and served from 11/01/1956 to 09/01/1958 and attained the rank of Specialist 4Th Class
Funeral Service for Howard Crowell, age seventy-six, of Lebanon, Missouri will be held Friday, April 27, 2012, at 11:00 A.M., at Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00, also at Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
There will be a graveside service at 2:30 P.M., at Liberty Cemetery in Belle, Missouri.
Pastor Allen Reeves will officiate.
Memorials have been suggested to Community Baptist Church Building Fund and donations can be left at Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
