Mt. Carroll – Mrs. Daisy Elizabeth McEwen Barnes, 62, night operator at the telephone exchange in Mt. Carroll for 15 years, died at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at her home. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Frank Bros. funeral chapel, the Rev. James A. Ford officiating. Members of Ola chapter, O.E.S., were in charge of services at the grave in Oak Hill cemetery.
She leaves a sister in Perry, Ill., a niece and a nephew. She was born June 2, 1877, in Missouri.
