Milford Lee Mitchem was a son of Marvin Mitchem and Ava Carpenter Mitchem of Gaston Co., NC. He was married to Ruth Huss, a daughter of Chesley & Bessie Carpenter Huss. They made their home at 111 Whitesides Steet, Cherryville, NC. They were the parents of one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Mitchem b. 10/27/1948 d. 3/2/2000. Milford was a clerk for more than 20 years with Ferguson Hardware; member of Cherryville Rescue Squad; and a Seabee Navy Veteran of WWII. He was survived by his wife, Ruth Huss Mitchem, his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Mitchem; and two sisters, Runnell Mitchem Freeman of Thomasville, NC and Ann Mitchem Hoyle of Tampa, FL.
