Hw was born to Isaac and Euinice (Houghton) Cady.

February 16, 1832, he and Mary were married at Kingston, VT.
Issac Parker was the Justice of the Peace. (Kingston is now called Granville).

Rev. James ministered the wedding vows for his daughter, Mary Olive Cady to Hiram Leffingwell Dec 22, 1865 in Tomah, Monroe Co WI. She lost her first husband, Benjamin S Blowers during the civil war. He is buried in Arlington Nat'l Cemetery in Virginia.
