Born of Finnish immigrant parents

She was a longtime resident of Sumner.

Following her coal-miner father's trade, she lived a remarkable childhood in Franklin, Black Diamond, Cumberland, and Carbonado, WA, graduating from Carbonado High School.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Onie Hannus, a teacher and coach at Enumclaw High School, who was an outstanding multi-sport athlete, and they lived in Enumclaw until Onie's unexpected death.

She married second husband Scott Kuss and moved to Sumner, where Scott was the Superintendent of Utilities for the City of Sumner and Sumner's "Bull of the Woods."

She is survived by son Ed and Carolyn Hannus of Sumner, son Bob and Suzy Hannus of Bothell, WA, son Rick and Lynne Kuss of Lake Tapps, as well as her "pride and joy," eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by all.

She will be forever interred next to Scott.
