Annie Laura Moore Collins, 89, of Cobbtown passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. A native of Tattnall County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Leila Youmans Moore. She had lived most of her life in Tattnall County and retired as a clerk with R.G. Wilkes Drugs. Laura loved embroidering and growing flowers with African violets being her favorite. She enjoyed her family and her church family as a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church and the Sunshine Ladies and Gents Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dink Collins and six siblings, Elizabeth Knabb, Evelyn Roebuck, Janell Moore, Claudine Colley, Gussie Moore and Hugh Moore.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Lawanda and Rev. Tom Shepard of Collins; five brothers, Bryant Moore of Savannah, Rev. Lamar Moore of Lexington, NC, Rev. Ellis Moore of Evans, John Moore of Lyons and Roger Moore of Bellville; four sisters, Margie Moore of Cobbtown, Naomi Molchan of Deland, FL, Mattie Moses of Rush City, MN and Marie Cooper of Brunswick.
Funeral services were held Thursday at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Jim Rogers, Rev. Ellis Moore and Rev. James Bland officiating. Burial was in the Connors Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kirby and Kelly Archambeault, Barry Cooper, Jimmy Rich, Danny Collins and Partin Moore.
Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Pine Grove Baptist Church, members of the Sunshine Ladies and Gents Sunday School Class, Edward Kennedy and Greg Lynn.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
