He was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Mandan, N.D., and had lived here for 25 years.
Mr. Bemis had been a security guard for Boeing and worked in maintenance at the National Guard. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of Cheyenne Hills Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Mr. Bemis is survived by his wife, Nancy Bemis of Cheyenne; one son, Gene Bemis of North Platte, Neb.; stepson, John Henderson of Fort Morgan, Colo.; two daughters, Lynn Bemis of Portland, Ore., and Linda Arnan of Englewood, Colo.; stepmother, Lila Bemis of Valley City, N.D.; two sisters, Lila Smart of Hutchinson, Minn., and Marsha Jeffeson of Makoti, N.D.; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leora Bemis; his parents, Meg and Olive Bemis and a stepgrandchild.
