The 1880 census finds the family of George A. Baker and Mary C. Baker in Missoula, Montana. George was born in New Jersey on 27 September 1833. He was married in about 1875 to Mary C.(Woods?) Baker, she was born in October 1850 in Missouri. In this census, they had one 2 year old son, Allan who was born in Montana Territory.
Twenty years later, according to the 1900 census in Ravalli County, Montana; shows another son, George, 22. He was born in Montana in October 1877. George Sr.'s sister-in-law, Eliza Woods was living with them in both census records. She was born in Missouri in August 1847.
George was working as a Teamster in 1880 and in 1900, a Railroad Mail Clerk. His son, George, was working as a Placer Miner (also called open-cast mining). Eliza was a school teacher working in Missoula in 1880.
George passed away on the 11th of January 1901 and was buried in the the Grantsdale Cemetery, his wife Mary was also buried there in November 1915; and his sister-in-law Eliza Woods (probably Mary's sister) has her final resting place in Grantsdale, as well. She passed on in April of 1920.
