LINDO Elmer AGOSTI was born on May 9, 1919 in Homer City, Pennsylvania. He joined the Navy at an early age and saw many parts of the world during his tour of duty. Lindo served his country for over 28 years and was awarded the Silver Star Medal. During this time, Lindo met his wife Mary, who was also serving in the Navy. They were married for over 50 years, making many long and lasting friendships in all of the places they lived. After his retirement at the rank of lieutenant commander in 1970, Lindo began a second career for the State of California as an inspector of hospitals and nursing homes. Lindo and Mary traveled extensively, including several trips to Italy to visit Lindo's family there. He had a passion for the San Francisco 49ers, opera and gardening. Mary passed away March 11, 2003 and Lindo joined her on April 25, 2004. He is survived by his Aunt Theresa, nieces, Barbara Grimes and Kathleen Bullano, and nephew Ronald LeVrangi. Friends are welcome for visitation from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. and the vigil service at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 29, both at Greer Family Mortuary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2004 at St. Philip Neri, 3108 Van Buren Street. Interment, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
