Theron Cole, aged 64 years one of Mont Alto's most respected residents, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at his home after four days illness. He suffered a paralytic stroke Sunday and later contracting pneumonia which proved fatal.
Mr Cole was born in Corning N.Y., and came to Mont Alto a guarter of a century ago. For many years he was employed in the Mont Alto section and was considered an honest and industrious workman. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was ever ready to lend a helping hand.
He is survivied by his wife, Mrs Sarah McFerren Cole, who is a descendant of one of Mont Alto's earliest families and two daughters and one son; Mrs Ethel Craig, Chicago; James Cole, Philadelphia, and Mrs Susan Strang, Mont Alto. Two grandchildren also survive.
The funeral will be held Sunday meeting at the late home at 2 o'clock and further services in the Mt Zion Church conducted by Rev. H.C. Kottler. Burial will be in tha adjoining cemetery.
