George Wesley Carroll, 81, of Wichita Falls, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 2, 2012.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2012, in the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Leo Hargis and Rev. Gerald Kuykendall, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery Pavilion in Iowa Park under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
A son of the late Mary (Brown) and Lewis Carroll, George was born October 17, 1930, in Talladega, Alabama. He and Betty Louise Emberson were married February 19, 1955, in Wichita Falls. George worked for Howmet and was a retired Assembly of God minister. He loved his Lord, his family and friends.
Mr. Carroll was also preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters; and his son, Lewis E. Carroll.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Carroll; daughter, Janice Bailey and husband John; daughter-in-law, Oleta Baker and husband Wayman; granddaughters, Amanda Shirey and husband Matt all of Wichita Falls, and Amy Daulton and husband Dustin of Iowa Park; grandson, Matt Bailey and wife Rachel of Wichita Falls; great-grandchildren, Kyle Daulton and Carsyn Bailey; brothers, Perry Carroll and wife Jeanette of Ashland, Alabama, Wayne Carroll and wife Sue of Lineville, Alabama; sister, Louise Brasher of Pell City, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012, at the funeral home.
