The Star-Mirror, Moscow, Idaho, July 20, 1916: "Troy, Id., July 18.--M.B. Peterson of Troy passed away Saturday, July 15, at 11 a.m. Grandpa Peterson was known to your correspondent for the past ten years and agrees with prominent business men here that to say anything but good of the deceased during his 26 years residence in Troy would be an untruth. The deceased was a devoted Christian, loved and respected by all who knew him. A widow and large family survive to mourn his loss. Deceased was born in Indiana and was 70 years, 5 months, and 2 days of age at the time of his death. The funeral was held from the Christian church."
