Anton "Tony" M. Buchner, 89, Rockford, died Wed., Dec. 28, 2005, in his home, after a short illness. Born Nov. 26, 1916, in Fort Bayard, N.M., the son of Anton and Katherine Buchner. He married Rosalie Abraham Funk in Rockford on Dec. 15, 1962. Formerly employed with National Lock, Ingersoll and Progressive Screw, retiring in 1992. Served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Member of Brooke Road United Methodist Church. Former organist, playing at the Rockford Country Club and The Huddle in Belvidere. Anton had a great sense of humor.
Anton is survived by his wife of 43 years; daughter, Rosanne Funk; sisters, Elsie Brown and Clara Istad. Predeceased by his parents.
