Bill Nettleton died in a hospital in Stephenville. Funeral was held at the Lone Camp Community Center, Lone Camp on December 2, Masonic graveside rites were performed at a graveside service and burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. He was born on November 14, 1911, the son of Arthur A. Nettleton and Jodia Ann Ferguson Nettleton in Shive. Mr. Nettleton grew up in the Shive community, graduated from high school in Hamilton. He married Lola Mae Perry, also from the Hamilton area on June 14, 1934. They lived their first years of married life during "the depression", both working side by side whether it was picking cotton in West Texas, or running a small cafe in Pottsville. They continued to be helpmates until the day Mr. Nettleton passed away. He taught in a Defense School at Abilene during WWII, worked at Chance-Vaught in Grand Prairie and Convair (now known as Lockheed) in Fort Worth. Mr. Nettleton picked cotton, kept books at a cotton gin, sold wind chargers, ran a cafe, worked as a janitor at Pottsville school and later worked in the aviation industry until he retired. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Lola Mae; a daughter and son-in-law Ann and Cleo Hartzo of Fort Worth; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Debra Nettleton of Milsap; grandson, Paul Nettleton and wife, Laura of Springtown and their children: Madison, Lauren and Hayden; three granddaughters, Karon Tank and husband Ted of Houston and son, Dwayne M. Hartzo of Ellsworth AFB, S.D.; Karla Poston and husband Russell of Fort Worth and children, Katherine Ann Wester and Jesse Poston; Lori Ann Nettleton and fiancÚ Joe Hurtado of Fort Worth and step-grandson, Jarrod Williams and his daughter of Fort Worth. Mr. Nettleton lived on Lake Palo Pinto at the time of his death and was an active member of the Lone Camp Community, the Baptist church and the Masonic Lodge of Texas for 67 years. He was an avid collector of Studebaker automobiles. He was a member of a 42" domino group that had been playing together for over 20 years. Bill had played his last game just two weeks before his death. He was laid to rest with the double six in his hand to await his buddies' arrival for the "big game".
