Maggie E. Craft, 98, of Butler, Mo., died Nov. 11, 1993 at the Truman Medical Center East in Kansas City, Mo. The funeral was held Nov. 14 at the Virginia United Methodist Church in Virginia, Mo., with Pastor John Ketcher officiating. Interment was in the Virginia Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Virginia Cemetery Association in her memory. Arrangements were under the direction of the Underwood -Steinbeck Funeral Home, Butler.
Mrs. Craft was born Sept. 18, 1895 in Parker, Kan., to Jon and America Rice. She married George Lee Craft on Aug. 3, 1912 and to the union two daughters were born. She was a member of the Virginia United Methodist Church. She operated the grocery store in Amsterdam, Mo., during the 1930's. She later moved to Kentucky where she helped deliver babies for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Beatrice Stump; her parents ; a brother; and two sisters/ She leaves a daughter, Hazel Halliburton of Butler; a brother, Wayne Rice of Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
