[A Descendent of the Kartchner/Wilcox family of Philadelphia]

Webb, Forest C

The death of Forest C. Webb, who had been in failing health the past years, occurred at his home at 2040 N. 9th St., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Thursday, February 25, at 9:30 o'clock of heart trouble.

Forest C. Webb, oldest son of Geo M. and Mary L. Webb, was born January 11, 1868 on a farm near Baxter, Jasper county, Iowa, where his boyhood days were spent. On January 26, 1898, he was united in marriage with Miss Delila Kelley of Columbus, Wis., and to this union five children were born, Mary, Pearl, and Stella, having preceded him in death.

He came to Baxter, Iowa, in 1894 with his parents where he was engaged in the lumber business with his father. In 1891, he accepted a position as a sales manager with a lumber company in Armour, S.D. After holding this responsible position for several years he went to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he became a contractor in cement work and this he followed until his health failed.

His, passing was gradual; his family little realizing that the end was so near. To his wife, who was his constant comfort and companion, he told to have courage, everything was all right, he was going, and bid her goodbye. It was in this peaceful mood he passed out of this life.

Body will lay in state at the Beffel Funeral Home from 6:30 o'clock Saturday evening until 3 o'clock Monday. Funeral services were held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at Milwaukee, Wis., February 29th and were attended by a large number of relatives and friends. The body was laid to rest in the Holy Cross cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, silent speakers of the esteem in which this man was held.

He was a kind husband and loving father. He leaves to mourn his death his faithful widow, who ministered to his every want, one son, Roy E. Webb, one daughter Mrs. Genevieve Muller, two grandchildren; four brothers and five sisters.

His brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Carl C Webb, of Baxter, Iowa and sister Mrs. George Pease of Colfax, Iowa, were in attendance at the funeral services.
