MRS ENGLISH DIES AT EMDEN WEDNESDAY
Mrs. Sarah C. English, aged 75 years, and a resident of Shelby county for more than twenty years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Daniel Easdale, near Emden, last Wednesday. She was ill only about a week and death was due to stomach trouble and other complications.
Mrs. English, whose maiden name was Sarah Smith, was born in Franklin Virginia, March [sic] 11, 1851. Upon coming to Missouri, the greater part of her life was spent in Callaway county. On Jan. 21, 1871, she was united in marriage to John W. English, who died some years ago. To them were born six children, three of whom survive. They are Tate English of Kirksville, Mrs. Margaret Wilt of Paris and Mrs. Daniel Easdale of Emden.
She was a member of the church at Oak Dale and was a devoted church and Sunday school worker.
Funeral services were held at the Oak Dale church Friday, conducted by Rev. J. A. Hughes of Hunnewell. Interment was in the church cemetery.
