Death: 1942

An author in her own right Rosalind Goforth was better known as the wife of Jonathan Goforth. They were Presbyterian missionaries to China and converted over 13,000 Chinese to Christianity. Along with many other missionaries to China the people mounted The Boxer Rebellion to expel all foreign missionaries from China. The Goforth's fled, barely escaping with their lives. They returned after the disturbances were quelled and spent most of their married lives there. They had 11 children but only 6 survived to adulthood.
