Andrew Belt Loftis of 5182 Huell Matthews Hwy., South Boston died September 4, 1998 at
Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 84.
Mr. Loftis was born January 8, 1914 in Halifax County to William A. and Ollie Loftis.
He was married to Virginia Solomon Loftis and was a member of Black Walnut Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Mr. Loftis was a charter member of Cluster Springs Vol. Fire Department and a member of the Woodman of the World Camp 106.
His survivors include his wife; son: Allen B. Loftis of South Boston; granddaughter: Sherry L. Owen of South Boston; great-granddaughters: Jessica and Jennifer Owen of South Boston; sisters: Bertha L. Gravitt of Virgilina, Edith L. Satterfield and Dorothy L. Brown of South
His funeral service was held Sunday, September 6 at Black Walnut Baptist Church with the Rev. Grover Stevens officiating. Burial took place in the church cemetery.
