Robbie was born July 3, 1924 in Admiral, TX, to Rob and Maggie Walker. She graduated from Baird High School in 1941. Robbie worked at Black's Food Store in Clyde and Baird and retired from the First National Bank of Baird.
Robbie married Gordon "Hut" Black in 1941. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Baird. Her parents, husband and one brother, James A. Walker, preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, James Gordon of Baird, and Bobby Ray and wife Cathy of Abilene; one sister, Billie Petty and husband Odell of Cisco; and one sister-in-law, Clyda Walker of Dallas. "Mema" is also survived by four grandchildren, Robert Black and wife Hilda of San Antonio, Krista McNamara and husband John of Canyon Lake, Brian Black and wife Kim of Keller, and Casey Montgomery and husband Matthew of Shreveport, LA. She is survived by eight great-grandchildren, George, Logan and Ali Black, Kaden and Kelci McNamara, Brianne and Brayden Black and Mason Montgomery. "Mema" loved babysitting her grandpup Izzie.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Carolyn Claussen, her caregiver and special friend, as well as Alice Backus.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Big Country at West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford.
