Gautier Teen Killed In Crash
Gautier -- One Gautier teenager is dead and another seriouly injured in a one-car crash that happened
early this morning on Martin Bluff Road.
Eric Lavan Sherman, 16, was pronounced dead on arrival at Singing River Hospital at 1:45 a.m. this morning. He was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Brett Gamblin, 15, Gautier. Gamblin is listed in fair condition in the neuro-surgical intensive care unit at Singing River Hospital, Pascagoula.
Coroner Benny Bryant said an inquest jury held that Sherman's death was accidental. Bryant said testimony at the inquest stated that the car Sherman was riding in passed another vehicle, spun out of control and crashed through a power pole and into a tree. The victims were taken to Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula by Rescue 4 and Amserv Ambulance Services.
