BETTENDORF - Services for Kathleen E. Waring, of Bettendorf, formerly a lifetime Davenport resident, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Mrs. Waring died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport, after a brief illness. Kathleen Elizabeth Schafer was born July 15, 1922, in Davenport, to Henry and Eleanor (Tegeler) Schafer. She married Harold J. "Al" Waring on May 4, 1946, in Davenport. She graduated from the former Immaculate Conception Academy and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Memorials can be made to the church, Mary Knoll or a favorite charity. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Al Waring; daughters and sons-in- law, Mary and John Allen, Rockford, Ill., Peggy and Bob Wozniak, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Rose and Mike Miller, Riverdale, Iowa, Grace and Dave Herrera, LeClaire, Iowa, and Ellen and Dave Martin, Rock Island; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike Waring, Princeton, Iowa, Joe and Val Waring, Blue Grass, Iowa, and Patrick and Barb Waring, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Carrie, Jim, Dan, Kateri, Toni, Rachel, Amanda, Alex, Casee, Andrea, Justin and Josh; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Madeline; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Loras and Kathleen Schafer, Long Grove, Iowa, and Henry and Virginia Schafer, Davenport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian. May they rest in peace.
