Orazio Giovanni Chenet, 83, of Sandy, died April 24, 1997.
He was born June 8, 1913 in Arizona, and grew up in Bologna, Italy. He served in the US Navy and the US Army during World War II. He was an avid fly fisherman, hunter, birdwatcher, and golfer. He had a passion for the Italian Opera and good red wind. He was gentle natured man who loved helping people and was people and was known as "Grandpa" to all the neighborhood children.Survived by his wife, Cecilia and two stepchildren, Eung Kim and Jeanny Kim.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tree Utah, 362 East Broadway, SLC, UT 84111
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 12 noon at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 East South Temple. Committal: Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 South 700 east. Funeral Directors: Neil O'Donnell and Sons.
