Funeral services for Dewey Earl “Red” Alford, 89, of Natchez, who died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 10 a.m., today from Pentecostals of Ms Lou Church in Ferriday, La with Rev. Gary Howington, Rev. Ronnie Hall, Rev. Adelbert Adcock, and Rev. James Nations officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. Mr. Alford was born December 2, 1919, in Walthal County, MS the son of Heschel and Ethel Thornhill Alford. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church. Mr. Alford was a U. S. Air Force Veteran of World War II. He retired from International Paper Company. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Aileen Alford, one brother, Doyle Alford; two sons, Roger Alford and Jerry Alford. Survivors include one son, Willie Alford and his wife Renee of Vidalia; one daughter, Sybil Alford of Natchez; four grandchildren, Gena Adcock and her husband Adelbert both of Vicksburg, Justin Alford and his wife Kristi of Houma, La., Jill Alford of Ashland, Oregon, and Stephen Wells of Vidalia; three great grandchildren, Braxton Adcock, Braylon Adcock and Jack Alford; and his special pet dog, Foo. Pallbearers will be Rick Ellis, Adelbert Adcock, David Stephens, Tommy Freeman, Steve Brown, Justin Alford, Stephen Wells, and Frank Pennington.
