Anna Carey, 104, of Menomonie, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie.
Anna was born March 4, 1895, in Czechoslovakia to John and Elizabeth (Bugosh) Ulicney. At the age of 16, Anna, along with family members, crossed the Atlantic to join her father in Iowa. She later met and married John Edward Carey, and they resided in Iowa for many years. Following her husband's death, she moved to Boyceville and took care of her sister. In 1992, she became a resident of the Dunn County Health Care Center. Anna enjoyed crocheting pillows and blankets.
Anna is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Ann; three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Everts Funeral Home in Glenwood City, with Rev. Louis Kerestes officiat-ng. Burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa, Ia. Memorial preferred in donor's choice.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday one hour prior to services
