Arthur G. Pittman was the son of Louisa Jane and Hilliard Pittman and the brother of Henry Lee Pittman. He enlisted on June 20, 1916 in the Alabama National Guard, Company K, 2nd Infantry, Machine Gun Company. He died in the last days of the Battle of the Marne, a decisive Allied victory.
