James Lafayette Parker was born February 25, 1917 in Llano, Llano County, Texas, to Terrel Scott and Jewell Lovina Whittenberg Parker. He was the third child of four born to the Parkers. His siblings preceeded him in death, Orval Scott Parker, Glenn Edwin Parker and Evelyn Beatrice Parker Hess who died, November 2005. Terrel Parker taught all three sons about cars and car repairs. All three young men enjoyed the car business with their father.

In July 1, 1942, James enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force and served in WWII as a Sergeant.

On March 4, 1943, James married Clara Dietz and lived in Denver, Colorado. Together James and Clara had two sweet sons, James S. and Jeffrey M. Parker. James worked as an Electrical Engineer for Denver, Colorado.

After being widowed, James married Bonnelle H. Hess Perkins in 1987 and lived in Cameron, Milam County, Texas. In 1994 Bonnelle passed away and James lived out the rest of his life in Cameron. January 21, 2006, James Parker died at the age of 89. He was living in Cedar Park at the time, close to his son Jeffrey.

James was a long time member of the Church of Christ.
