ROKICKI Leon R. Leon Robert Rokicki, age 82, of Toledo, died surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 30, 2009, in The Toledo Hospital. He was born to Leo and Mary (Tomaleski) Rokicki on November 21, 1927, in Toledo. Leon served his country during World War II as a Marine. He married Sandy (Olrich) Miles on May 22, 1981. Leon was employed by International Harvester and Ryder Truck Rental as a mechanic until his "retirement" in 1990. Not one to sit around, after nine years, he returned to work as a parts delivery driver for Vin Devers Auto Dealership in 1999, where he enjoyed working until January 2009. Leon was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his days boating on Lake Erie. In addition, traveling was a main hobby, and his favorite trip was a cruise. He also was a member of Eagles Aerie #197 in Toledo. Above all else, Leon will be remembered as a generous, kind and gracious man who had a friendly smile for all and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Leon is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; sons, Danny (Linda) Rokicki, Nick Rokicki and Lee (Tonya) Miles; daughter, Lisa Marquis; grandchildren, Danny Rokicki, Kelly Rokicki, Terra and Thomas Marquis, Travis, Katie and McKenzie Miles, and one great-granddaughter, Erin Mary Rokicki. Friends may call at the Urbanski Funeral Home (419) 244-4611, LaGrange at Dexter Street on Wednesday December 2, 2009 from 2 until 8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services begin with closing prayers in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and continue with a Funeral Mass at 10 in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Leon's cousin Rose Czlapinski for her continued support over the past several weeks. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corps' "Toys for Tots" Campaign or to a charity of the donor's choice.
