Rev. Myles Greene is buried in a single plot encircled by an iron fence with a marble slab. The inscription on his marker reads (in-part), "Rev. Myles Greene, who was born June 06, 1767 in the State of Virginia." He embraced religion in June 1787. Entered the ministry soon hereafter and preached the Gospel of Christ faithfully and usefully for 65 years. He died in great peace, January 31, 1853 in the 86th. year of his age. "Servant of Christ well done, Praise He Thy New Employ, and While Eteral Ages Run, Rest in Thou Saviours Joy."
He traveled the Brunswick, Virginia Circuit in 1791 and was sent by the Virginia Conference as Presiding Elder over North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, when they were in one circuit. He was very prominent in the early church in Georgia along with Asbury Hull, Lovick Pierce and others. For 20 years he was Clerk of the Court in Baldwin Co., GA., living in Milledgeville. Afterwards rejoined the Methodist Conference and was a member at the first Convention in 1836, Macon, Ga.
There is an inscription about his life and picture of Rev. Myles Greene in the Methodist Museum, St. Simons, GA.

This Indenture made and entered the 3rd Day of December 1790 BETWEEN Myl es Green & Elizabeth his wife of the County of Brunswick of the one part a nd Sterling Peebles of the same County of the other part . . . for a nd in consideration of the sum of one hundred & fifty pounds . . . doth gr ant bargain sell infeoff [sic] & confirme [sic] unto the aforesaid Peebl es . . . a certain tract or pasel [sic] of land situate lying and bei ng in the aforesaid County of Brunswick and bounding and abutting as follo ws, that is to say, BEGINNING at a poplar on Wyches Branch Sterling Peebl es line thence along his line North thirty nine degrees East one hundred t wenty eight poles to a scrub oak thence North three degrees East fifty o ne poles to a white oak thence along Wilkins's line North fifty five degre es West one hundred seventy two poles to red oak thence South thirty two d egrees West one hundred seventy eight poles to a pine thence a new line So uth fifty seven degrees East one hundred & seventy eight poles to the BEGI NNING the same containing one hundred & ninety seven acres . . . Sign ed by Myles Green and Elisabeth Green and witnessed by Wm. Edwd. Brodna x, Britain Peebles, and Mark Green. Brunswick County Court December 27th 1 790. This Indenture of Bargain & Sale was acknowledged by Myles Green a nd Elizabeth his wife to be their act and deed & ordered to be recorded. P revious to which acknowledgment the said Elizabeth being privily examin ed as the law directs did voluntarily assent thereto.
