Elizabeth A. Argo, age 91, of Richmond, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Born April 3, 1919, in Liberty to Hugh and Margaret Dawes Laytart, she was a lifelong resident of Richmond. Elizabeth retired from Nettle Creek Industries as a seamstress and worked for Walter Norris Upholstery. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and attended Fountain City Wesleyan Church and Centerville First Baptist Church. Elizabeth was a Sunday School teacher for many years and was the Sunday School secretary.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Tash and husband Tom, and Gloria Williams and husband Mike, both of Richmond; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Durham of Florida; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Argo, who died in 1991; her parents and an infant sister.
Visitation for Elizabeth A. Argo will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15 at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor David Anderson and Pastor James Girdley officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
