|Birth: ||Jun. 26, 1967|
|Death: ||Sep. 23, 2008|
Joy Denise Ham, 41, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with ocular melanoma.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
She graduated from Eastern Hills High School class of 1985.
Joy lived up to her name during all of this. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She always remained positive, even though she was tiring from treatment. Joy had a deep desire to make others happy. She was very much the soccer mom and so much more. She was involved with the youth of Burleson for the past several years through various sports teams with her children and she touched the lives of everyone that encountered her.
This has been a long battle and Joy never gave up. She was too spirited and sassy to sit still for cancer. She insisted on living a full life until the end and fought with all her might. Joys spirit and joyful countenance will live on forever.
I know for sure that Joy is with the Lord now and she was confident that she would be with him when it was her time.
Joy wishes to express the importance of regular eye exams and more specifically, the importance of having your eyes dilated during the exam. Without dilation she would never have been properly diagnosed.
A warm and heartfelt thank you to her TCU family.
