Dixon served for the duration, enlisting in 1861 and receiving his discharge in 1865. The application for his headstone was signed in 1938 by Anne Johnston Bailey of Van Buren, Arkansas, her relationship to Dixon unknown, and it was shipped to I.E. DeShazo in Monroe, Arkansas for placement in White Church Cemetery.
