CLINCHPORT, Va. - Kenneth Ralph Dingus , 47, entered into rest on Sunday ( Jan. 2, 2000 ) at Holston Valley Medical Center .
Born November 19, 1952 in Scott County , Va. He attended Clinchport Freewill Baptist Church .
He was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Kegley Dingus .
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Hammond Dingus , Clinchport, Va.; two sons, Mark Aaron Dingus and Brian Anthony Dingus , both of the home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph and Anna Dingus , Clinchport, Va.; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lubert and Polly Hammond, Clinchport, Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willard (Buck) and Betty Dingus , Lebanon, Va., Paul James (Jimmy) and JoAnn Dingus , Clinchport, Va., Ronnie and Brenda Dingus , Gate City, Va. and Raymond and Jeanette Dingus , Kingsport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Guy Arwood, Duffield, Va., Judy and Richard (Dick) Hoesly, Scottsboro, Ala., Margaret and Daryl Hurd, Clinchport, Va. and Linda and Ted Falin, Clinchport, Va.; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Eddie Hammond and Sherry Carter, Richard and Penny Hammond, both of Clinchport, Va., and Larry and Teresa France, Gate City; nieces, Paula Ervin, Shelby Tomlinson, Sandra Jenks, Christy Agnew, Rhnea Saez, Heather Hurd, Kendra Hammond; nephews, Robert Hass, Mike Hass, Darren Dingus , Dennis Hass, Wendell Dingus , Wade Dingus , Ron Dingus Jr., and Jimmy Hoesly; several great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Herron, the Rev. Eckel Herron and the Rev. Ralph Crawford officiating. Music will be provided by Junior Smith and the Family Tradition.
Burial will follow the service in Holston View Cemetery , Weber City , Va. Gary Addington, Jack Cunningham, Scott Warren, Delmar (Pete) Baird, Roger Estepp and Gus Harrell will serve as pallbearers. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
