FUNERAL SERVICES HELD SEPTEMBER 13 FOR ELMER AND IRMA BLACK

Services were held at the Little Chapel on the Hill at Harris Grove for Elmer Black, 79, and his wife Irma E. Black, 81, of Santa Rosa, CA on Saturday, September 13 at 10:30 a. m. Pastor Rusty Hedger officiated at the service with military rites by the Logan V.F.W. Post #6256 at the grave site. The Blacks died in an auto accident on September 4 in Kerby, OR.

Elmer was born April 9, 1918 in Logan and had served in the U.S. Army. He was an inspector for the U.S. Post Office. Irma Black was born January 3, 1917 in Seymour, TX and had served as a nurse in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Page and husband Patrick of Napa, CA; son, Thomas and wife Melissa of Tillamook, OR; granddaughter Amy Page of San Leandra, CA, grandson Nickola at home; brother Ralph and wife Hazel of Logan; nephews Kyle Black and wife Peggy of Des Moines, and their children Brad, Kristin and Kimberly and Kevin Black and wife Bernadette of Austin, TX, and many, many friends.

Schumacher Funeral Home in Logan was in charge of the arrangements.

Ralph and Hazel Black have received word that Elmer and Erma Black were killed in a head-on car collision in Oregon. They will be buried at Harris Grove Cemetery. For more information contact Hazel Black.
