BEL AIR, CUMBERLAND Juanita D. "Nita" Harris, 65, of 15409 Shamrock Road, SW, Bel Air, Cumberland, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital.

She was born on July 3, 1934, in Plano, Texas, her adoptive parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. William Biggs, formerly of Frostburg. She was also preceded in death by an adopted sister, Rae Sharpe.

Juanita was retired as a Master Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force. She was the Director of Education in Cosmetology at the International Beauty School.

Miss Harris was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church, the Western Maryland Women's Bowling Association, and the Maryland State Bowling Association. She was also a member of the National Cosmetology Association, the Western Maryland Cosmetology Association, the AARP, and a lifetime member of Non-Commissioned Officers Association. She was a member of the Easter Star Faith Chapter #31, Keyser, W.Va.

Surviving are her adoptive family, six sisters, Ida Jackson and husband George, Washington D.C., Eva Biggs, with whom she resided, Jane Biggs, Silver Springs, Jo Hall and husband Clarence, Frostburg, Carrol Reid, Silver Spring, and Gail Rhodes and Stewart Twyman, Frostburg; two brothers, William Biggs Jr., Roxbury, Mass., and Paul Biggs and wife Benji, Emmitsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Somers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday, May 14, 2000, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Darryl Gill officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
