Minerva Elmore Corley, the daughter of Amos Younger Wetherspoon Elmore and Nancy Jane Lindsey, was born on February 29, 1884. Her father was born on October 23, 1850 in Warren County, Kentucky. Her mother was born in January of 1853 in Butler County, Kentucky. At the time of the 1880 Census of Renfrow, Butler County, Kentucky the Amos Elmore family consisted of: Amos, a farmer, age 30; his wife Jane N., age 24; and children Mary I., age 6; Atha O., age 3;, Vergil, age 2; and Antha, age 7 months.

Manerva "Nervia" Elmore and Julian N. Corley, the son of George W. Corley and Nicey Evans, were married in Grayson County, Kentucky on March 16, 1905. He was born there on April 6, 1882. Nervia Corley died in Grayson County, Kentucky on April 22, 1952 at the age of 68. Her husband died on May 16, 1955. They share the same stone in the Layman Memorial Gardens near Millwood, Kentucky.
