Ruby Patton Bradley was born in the Creath Community, Houston County, Texas on June 23, 1912. Her father was Samuel J. Patton III, whose family came to the Republic of Texas in 1837, from South Carolina and settled in the Creath, Tadmore community. Her mother was Margaret Jane Peaock Patton, who came to Texas from Pickens Co., Alabama, in 1880. Ruby had one sister, Ava Conner and four brothers, Arthur, Robert (Bob), Dan and Charles (Charlie) Patton.
Ruby was married to James Horace Wells and had two children, Avis Marie Wells and Donald Olen Wells. Her second marriage was to Willie Robert (Jack) Bradley. Ruby died May 30, 1991 in Lake Jackson, TX. She had one granddaughter and six grandsons.
Ruby loved her family and had many life-time friends.
