Birth: Feb. 26, 1851
Monroe County
Indiana, USA
Death: Jan. 25, 1924
Monroe County

Rhoda was the daughter of a shoemaker named Stanford Jacobs and his wife, Rhoda Barrett.

Rhoda married Perry Oliver Butcher on 14 Jan 1874 in Monroe County, Indiana.

Their marriage was not the first link between the Jacobs and Butcher/Alexander families. Rhoda's brother, Andrew J. Jacobs, married Perry's step-sister, Sarah Adaline Alexander, in 1869. Even more complicated, the second wife of another of Rhoda's brothers, Hazlett "Alfred" Jacobs, was Mary Elmira Payne. After Alfred died, she married Perry's step-brother, James Samuel Alexander.

Perry was a farmer, and they were the parents of 3 children.

At the time of her death due to chronic kidney disease, Rhoda was 72 years, 10 months and 30 days old. She was survived by her husband, Perry; 2 daughters; 1 son; and 4 grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on 27 Jan 1924.
