Mary Lee (Molly) Johnson was the first daughter of Captain Francis (Frank)Johnson, and his second wife, Anne Elizabeth (Nancy) Sutton Johnson. She was born in Mississippi, and lived most of her life on the Johnson Plantation in Sunflower County.
She was educated at the Ursline Convent, New Orleans, La., having traveled there by riverboat.
Molly married John Sebry Burch of Chesterfield County, South Carolina, in December of 1869. The couple continued to live on her father's plantation in a seperate dwelling, north of what is now Boyer Cemetery, then known as the "Old Johnson Cemetery". The house was torn down around 1952, the Johnson home met the same fate later between 1980-90.
Molly fell dead while in her garden on July 25, 1898.
John, Molly's husband, sold their portion of the Johnson Plantation, and with their children moved to Webster County, Ms. There he married Dora Starnes of Webster County.
