SERVICES SATURDAY FOR SYLVAN BARBER
Sylvan Barber, 72, of St. Louis, Mo. died Tuesday in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis.
He was born Oct. 22, 1895, in Willisville, the son of Alex and Vida Hueghy Barber.
He married Bessie Haynes on Jan. 17, 1914, in Pinckneyville.
He was a member of the Kingshighway Baptist Church in St. Louis.
He leaves his wife of St. Louis; sons, John, Alexander, and James, all of St. Louis; daughter, Mrs. Pauline Fehr, of St. Louis; sister, Mrs. Noah Dameron of Willisville; brothers, Alex of Baldwin, John of Du Quoin; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Campbell Hill. The Rev. Gene Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery, Percy.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday.
