Lela Belle Burden, 84, of Leighton, Ala., died July 10, 2005.Visitation was 6-9 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2005, at Colbert Memorial Chapel, with an Eastern Star Service at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, withburial in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Dwight Everette will be officiating. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Thomas Hubert Burden; daughters, Thelma Dawson, of Huntsville, Ala., Methel Posey and husband, Wayne, of Leighton; sons, Cleavon Burden and wife, Suzie, Thaniel Burden and wife, Jo Ann, Garland Burden and wife, Dianna, all of Town Creek, Ala.; brothers, Harvey Norton, of Talladega, Ala., William Norton and wife, Nancy, of Pennsylvania; sister, Mary Frances Miller, of Pine Bluff, Ark.; grandchildren, Rhonda Furr, Valerie Miles, Steve, Andy, Tommy, Stacy, Joseph, Stoney, Dusty and Devin Burden, Brandon Posey, Suzanne Rickard, Yana Hardin, Kristen Burden and Kellie Burden; 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis C. and Cora L. Norton; brother, Raymond Norton; granddaughter, Kellie Burden; and son-in-law, Frank Dawson. Pallbearers will be Steve Burden, Andy Burden, Tommy Burden, Stacy Burden, Jospeh Burden, Stoney Burden, Dusty Burden, Devin Burden and Brandon Posey. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons. She was a member of Abbie Baptist Church, a member of the Eastern Star, Town Creek Chapter No. 259 for more than 50 years, and was a past Worthy Matron. She was a past Grand Representative, state of Tennessee, a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine and a member of Amaranth.Colbert Memorial Chapel is directing.
