He married Emily G. Thompson on Oct. 8, 1866. They moved from Canada to Wisconsin in 1868; and there the family settled in Black Brooke, Polk Co., Wisconsin. David was a Civil War Veteran. In 1989 he was honored during a ceremony marking the installation of a gravemarker at his burial site. David was a watchman for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. David was born on Wolfe Island, Canada and was a son of John William Holliday and John's first wife Nancy Day Holliday. John is buried on Wolfe Island, Ont., Canada where they had moved in 1838. I have not found a burial place for Nancy but it is believed she was buried beside the house on Holliday point. Holliday descendant's still own the house.
