Joseph Edwin Ryder, 85, of Marysville, WA, born January 29, 1917 in Everett, WA, passed away March 12, 2002 at an area hospital.

During World War II, Joe was a Merchant Marine. After his discharge from the service, Joe was a baker for Safeway, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1845. He was also a member of the Moose Legion #91, and he was Moose of the year in 1999.

He is survived by daughters, Patti Runnion and Jo Small of North Pole, AK, Janie Vaughn of Mt. Vernon, Wa, Jackie Scott of Ketchikan, AK, and Nancy Hoffman of Sitka, Ak., brother, Wilber Ryder of Everett, grandchildren, Dr. Robert Monsey, Rick Monsey, Dianna Secrest, Ron Runnion, DeDe Carmichall, Lisa Manzo, Billi-jo Rush, Mike Small, Darren Scott, Rene Aragon, Gary Hoffman, numerous great-grandchildren, niece Margie Forbes and Evan Forbes, Willie and Sue Perry, George, Tony James, and John Orr of Marysville, Bob Orr of MT, and Esther Carsen of Reno, NV and Jaycie Carsen of Dallas, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.

All who loved him will miss him greatly.

A memorial service will be held at the Marysville Moose Lodge, March 23, 2002 at 1:00 PM, 9214 State Ave., Suite A, Marysville, WA.
