Mr. Bank retired from the Army in 1963. Then he worked at the Lansing, (Kan.) Correctional Facility.
Born in Matfield Green, Kan., on Nov 18, 1921, he was a member of the First Baptist Church, Leavnworth; Elks Lodge No. 661; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 56; Eagles Lodge No. 55; American Legion Post No. 23; Masonic Lodge No. 71, A.F. & A.M. and Order of the Eastern Star No. 223, both of Savannah, Mo.; National Sojourners No. 154; 32nd-degree master of the Royal Secret, Armed Forces Scottish Rite bodies; and Senior Bowling Association.
On Feb 19, 1942, he married Elsie E. Schminke in Parkville, Mo. She survives of the home.
Mr. Banks was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; and his parents, Nealy and Lude M.
Additional survivors: four sons, Edgar, Grain Valley, Mo.; Steven, Blude Springs, Mo., Ronald, Leavenworth, and Michael, Kansas City; a daughter, Marilyn Edwards, Leavenworth, a sister, Mary E. Doyle, Good Thunder, Minn; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept 5, at the First Baptist Church, Leavenworth, Kan.
Burial: Fort Leavenworth Natonal Cemetery., Leaventworth, Kansas.
