George Vasko Jr. died in John XXIII Home, Hermitage, PA.

Parents: George and Mary Ceholnay Vasko.

He attended Sharon schools. In 1984, he retired from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., where he worked as a pipefitter for 38 years. He belonged to the Westinghouse Retirees Association. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Valley, Council 4003. An avid bowler, he belonged to several leagues at Thornton Hall Lanes, Sharon. A decorated war veteran, he served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. His wife, the former Florence E. Mastrian, whom he married Oct. 30, 1954, passed away Nov. 10, 2003.

Relatives: three daughters, Cheryl A. Wachter and her husband, Richard B., of Farrell, Diane M. O'Rourke and her husband, James, of Hermitage, and Kathleen Isola and her husband, Virgil M., of Kensington, Md.; a son, George Vasko III and his wife, Tracey, of Pulaski, two sisters, Martha Stratter of New Jersey and Helen Gajda of Raleigh, N.C.; three brothers, John Vasko and his wife, Ann, of Hubbard, Nicholas Vasko and his wife, Eileen, of Cleveland, and William Vasko and his wife, Carolyn, of Hermitage; 12 grandchildren, Aaron D., Megan E. and Rebecca J. Wachter, Cassandra T., Christina M., James A. Jr. and Patrick J. O'Rourke, Nichole M., Victoria T. and Virgil M. Isola, and Bradley D. and Nicholas D. Vasko. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Barker; and also an infant brother, Vincent Vasko; and an infant sister, Margaret Vasko.
