Monmouthshire, Wales
Death: Jan. 21, 1907

He died at the Soldiers and Sailors Home of Ohio

Civil War Service - The beginning of his credited Civil War service was Mar 7 1864. He was a seaman, serving aboard the USS Pocahantas & the USS Itasca. There is also reference to the USS Princeton. Based on his age, he may have served on that ship but it was destroyed about 13 years before the the Civil War. He was also listed as being "unassigned" to Co I of the 116th PA Infantry. His credited service ended Sep 12 1865. He filed for an invalid's pension Sep 7 1875 which was granted (Cert # 17497). His widow filed Apr 15 1907 (Cert # 20027)

He married Allie Cook Apr 24 1868 in Portage County, Ohio

In 1870 he was listed as a "Briller" - probably Driller. In 1880 he was listed as a prospector for coal. He was admitted to the Soldiers & Sailors Home before 1890 and was a patient there until he died.
